LAC-BAC seeks input on ILL Future Iterations

Happy New Year –

CULC/CBUC along with a number of member libraries, and many other industry associations (CLA, CARL, Federal Libraries, OLA, among others) have participated in a couple of working sessions with LAC-BAC staff to create some documents for the broader community to respond too. This has been going on also for the National Union Catalogue, and those should be available soon.

Shortly before Christmas there was an article in La Presse that was widely circulated, and had some elements of go-forward correct, but it also missed the mark and caused a fair bit of confusion among those following the story. The documents attached are as follows:

We (CULC/CBUC) would appreciate as much feedback and as many questions or clarifying questions that we can work with LAC-BAC to get answers to support your front-line staff. The User Group Roundtable is meeting again in February 2013 to address questions and issues raised by members. Please send any questions, comments, etc. by January 22.

⚠️ Safety is a top priority for Canadian public libraries. The CULC/CBUC Safety and Security Toolkit provides a menu of options to help manage and respond to security incidents more effectively. Visit http://librarysafety.ca to enhance your library's safety plan! 📚

Just released — OVERDUE: The Case for Canada’s Public Libraries is the product of three years of CUI’s engagement with Canada’s urban public libraries alongside @culc_cbuc.
