Prime Minister Trudeau visits Pickering Public Library Maker Space

The Right Honourable Justin P. J. Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada Visits the Pickering Public Library Maker Space

PICKERING, ON (March 26, 2019): We are honoured to announce the opportunity to provide the Right Honourable Justin P. J. Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, a brief tour of our Maker Space on March 27, 2019 from 11:15 am to 12:00 pm.

The Prime Minister will be joined by Member of Parliament for Pickering – Uxbridge, Jennifer O’Connell and Mayor of Pickering, Dave Ryan. The tour will be hosted by the Library’s CEO, Tanya Sinclair. The Prime Minister will meet with clients who have utilized the Library’s Maker Space with a great deal of success as well as local students. He will enjoy a tour of the Maker Space technologies available to the community at little to no cost featuring a large format printer, a maker lab (fab lab) which includes several 3D printers, a carving machine, a vinyl cutter and heat press as well as the soundproof recording studio and more.

While this tour will be closed to the public, the media are welcome to attend for photo opportunities. Please be available no later than 10:45 am.
