Karin Borland, new Manager of Library Services, Winnipeg Public Library

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Karin Borland in her appointment as the new Manager of Library Services!

Karin has worked with the Winnipeg Public Library since 1986 where she began as the Area Children’s Librarian in the East Kildonan/Transcona District, and she continued in that role for the Assiniboine Park/Fort Garry District until 1994. In 1995, for the next eight years, Karin became the Branch Head at Fort Garry Branch. She then moved into her current position as Administrative Coordinator of Youth Services, at which she has worked since 2003.

Karin has been a key member of the Library Services Administrative Team, coordinating the delivery of programs, services, and collections for Children, Young Adults and Parents and Adults working with youth.

With a BA from the University of Toronto in Urban Studies and her Masters in Library Sciences from the University of Western Ontario, along with the wealth of experience she has gathered, I am confident she will excel in her new role as Manager of the division in the Community Services Department, beginning on December 6.
