CULC/CBUC Autumn Meeting – Transportation and Hotel Information

Hamilton Public Library will be hosting the meeting in their soon to be re-opened Central Library (100 Main Street West) which is attached to Jackson Square in downtown Hamilton. The Sheraton Hamilton is offering a range of rates that start at $125. Visit www.Sheraton.com/Hamilton for best rate. It is also attached to Jackson Square.

Below is some information you might find useful in planning your travel.

Fly Direct to Hamilton
Fly to Hamilton International Airport.; Most major centres are served by the HIA.
A cab ride to Sheraton Hotel is approx. $20.

Options for Transportation to Hamilton
Fly to Toronto Island Airport (Billy Bishop) on Porter Airlines (served by Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, Thunder Bay and Quebec City)
Take free Porter Shuttle to Union Station, and then take Go Bus/Train to Hamilton GO Centre: www.gotransit.com.
Bus/Train station is 650 m from Hotel. Go Train is approximately $12 one-way.

Fly to Toronto Pearson Airport
Airways Transit shuttle can be booked for Hamilton: www.airwaystransit.com
Cost is approx. $79 one-way.

DRIVING

From the East (Toronto)

  • Take Gardiner Expressway West.
  • Continue on Queen Elizabeth Way West
  • Take Highway 403 West Hamilton to the York Boulevard Exit.
  • Turn right on James Street North.
  • Turn right on King Street West.
  • The hotel is a half-block on the right.

From the West (London area)

  • Take Highway 401 to Highway 403 East.
  • Continue to the Main Street East Exit.
  • Follow Main Street until you reach Summer’s Lane across from City Hall.
  • Turn left on Summer’s Lane.
  • Turn left on King Street.

From the North (Barrie)

  • Take Highway 400 South to Highway 401 West
  • Take Highway 401 West to Highway 403 South.
  • Take Highway 403 West Hamilton to the York Boulevard Exit.
  • Turn right on James Street North.
  • Turn right on King Street West.
  • The hotel is a half-block on the right.
