HarperCollins instructs OverDrive and other library distribution platforms to limit circulation to 26 reads

OverDrive made the announcement on Friday. Here is the Library Journal story: “HarperCollins Puts 26 Loan Cap on Ebook Circulations”

Reaction has been swift and, as expected from the library community, not supportive at all.

CULC/CBUC has been working with various groups using the Vision Statement for Downloadable and Portable eContent as a guiding document. CULC/CBUC will be asking for more dialogue and as articulated in the document more consideration of varying pricing models.
